As new scholarship information comes into the guidance office, it is posted on the "SCHOLARSHIP BOARD".
Students are responsible for checking this board on a regular basis to stay informed and updated on new
scholarships. on the wall nextb to the board is a set of plastic folder bins that contain the paper-work and/or applications for the scholarships.
These are organized by month according to the application deadline of each scholarship. Students should check these folders as well.
There are two special folders in addition to the monthly scholarship information. One is labled "SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SPECIAL COLLEGES"
If a student is interested in a specific college, this folder contains information on scholar ships offered by some of these colleges. The other folder
is labled "SUMMER PROGRAMS". This folder contains information on special enrichment and summer program opportunities, in Arts, Academics and Athletics.
Participation insuch programs is an excellant way to improve college applications and/or reumes. Students are encouraged to check all of these folders on a regular basis.
For some scholarships, the student must be nominated by the scholarship commitee. If a student expresses an interest in a particular scholarship or college, we may consider that student (if the student meets the scholarship requirements). Those scholarships that meet the nomination will be identified.
Stop in the guidance office and check out the "Need a Lift?" college Financial Aid Handbook. this 160-page booklists
scholarships, grants and loans for which students may qualify. "Need A Lift?" contains extensive information on
scholarships for veteran's dependents.
