Preliminary Design and Open House - April 4, 2005

Our Mechanical and Aerodynamic team has come up with a preliminary design of the outer shell. Using AutoCAD, they were able to put their ideas into a computerized model which can now be tweaked and fine tuned into an efferent body. Be sure to check it out on the projects page.

The open house this past weekend went well. A good number of prospective students came over to where we were stationed in CAMP and checked out Hyperion. Not only did they get to learn how a solar car worked, but we were able to learn how to fit a six foot wide car through a five and a half foot wide door! Hopefully we'll be seeing some of them in the fall.

Solar Knight's New Website - March 28, 2005

The Clarkson University Solar Knights are proud to present to you the new team website. It's been a while in the making but now it's finally here. Currently the team is in the process of laying out plans and drawing up designs to develop a new solar powered vehicle. When completed, it will be the team's sixth car. We'll try to post updates as they come.

As always, the Solar Knights are looking for CU students who are interested in working on the solar car. If you like solving problems, enjoy the engineering and design process of building a complex vehicle or simply want to challenge yourself, then solar car is the SPEED team for you! So if you're a dedicated, hard-working person either drop us an email at solarcar@clarkson.edu or come to our weekly meetings on Fridays at 4:30pm in CAMP room 175.
