Building a HoneyPot Machine Dalia Solomon solomond100@hotmail.com The three CD contains all the exploits and applications that I used in my paper. The password for the Windows and Linux machines are vixen:vixen and root:ksivphec respectively. CD 1 contains the HoneyPot windows XP along with the attacker XP machine. The attacker XP is configured with all the attack code used to exploit the HoneyPot XP and Linux machines. CD II has the Gentoo OS installed, the Gentoo installation also contains UML in the /tmp/uml directory. By using the command “linux” in this directory I can run UML on it. CD III has the Redhat installation. Redhad comes with the X windows that could be initialized using the “startx” command after the login prompt. Also this CD contains Snort ,the exploits and the PowerPoint presentation. A snapshot comes with each machine. The snapshot contains all the applications that are installed on the machines based on the HoneyPot design diagram in my paper. Some snapshot contains exploit codes that can be executed by just hitting enter on the keyboard. In order for the network to work, internet connection sharing must be configured on the host machine and linked to VMnet1.
