Upon receiving the rules and regulations, the team starts designing a bridge to conform to the specifications. The bridge has to be made entirely out of steel, there are restrictions as to how big a member can be, etc. Once the bridge has been designed, the team then constructs the bridge. At the competition, the team then assembles the bride before it is load tested. The bridges are judged upon such aspects as time of construction, aesthetics, weight, aggregate deflection and overall feasibility.
