Financial Information & Analysis

Adobe Document with Detailed Information (.pdf 50 KB)

Financial Information and Analysis involves issues common to both finance and accounting. This includes the role of accounting as the basic language of business, the importance of accounting information systems in organizational decision-making, and the use of this information by financial decision makers in managing assets and investments. You focus on one of two tracks:

  • Financial Information Track — Development and provision of accounting information within organizational environments. This concentration provides some foundation for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam.
  • Financial Analysis Track — Understanding of how accounting and related information is used in asset management, investment and risk analysis, and interaction with capital markets. Designed for you if you wish to pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification.

At Clarkson, we get you in the game early. Many schools accept students into business degree study only in their junior year. Here, all of our freshmen are engaged in a two-semester entrepreneurial sequence designed to expose them to all facets of the business enterprise. Development of a start-up sets the context for the next three years of academics. We call it "learning business by doing business."

In addition to this undergraduate program, Clarkson also offers graduate degrees in business.
