Center for Advanced Materials Processing (CAMP)

CAMP at Clarkson University, headed by Dr. S. V. Babu is dedicated to developing Clarkson's research and educational programs in high-technology materials processing and is focused on industrial concerns and meeting industrial needs. CAMPís research is focused on colloids and surfaces; in particular, on the production, modification and conversion of solids for which small particles, colloidal media or surfaces play an important role in the processing or the properties of the final product. One of the arenas where surface, materials and colloidal chemistry plays an important role is in Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP).

Center for Advanced Surface Technology (CAST)

Center for Advanced Surface Technology (CAST) is an independent entity of CAMP at Clarkson University. Chemical-mechanical planarization (CMP) has come to occupy a central role in many industrially important technologies especially in the fabrication of integrated circuits. CAST works closely with various CMP industries to provide analytical service by reviewing and evaluating their current needs.
