Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE)
SHPE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development and advancement of Hispanic/Latinos in engineering, science and other technical professions. SHPE strives for educational excellence, economic opportunity and social equality.
SHPE Chapter Goals
- SHPE stimulates and develops Hispanic students' interest in engineering and science disciplines at Clarkson University.
- SHPE strives to increase the number of Hispanics students studying engineering and science at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- SHPE encourages and advises disadvantaged youth in their pursuit of an engineering or science career.
- SHPE is dedicated to improve the retention of Hispanic students enrolled in engineering and science disciplines.
- SHPE develops and participates in programs with industry and the university which benefits students seeking technical degrees.
- SHPE encourages the development of leadership skills.
