Vicki Clark provides planning and coordination support in the achievement of the mission of the office. She is the Summer Program Coordinator for the Horizons and NIH Bridges projects, and the Native American youth program. In addition to developing projects and programs, she works closely with Clarkson students to implement activities, makes connections between students and corporate representatives, and writes proposals for funding in support of a broad spectrum of student and program-related opportunities.
Vicki meets every two weeks with the presidents and vice presidents of the five professional societies under the Pipeline umbrella. These are the American Indian Science & Engineering Society (AISES), the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Society of Hispanic Professional engineers (SHPE), Society of Professional Women (SPW), and Society of Women Engineers (SWE). The leaders of these societies explore activities of mutual interest, share information about efforts that are being individually sponsored, and conjointly plan and execute receptions, competitions, and visits by high school students.
Vicki is the invited advisor to both AISES (1999 to present) and NSBE (1991 to present). NSBE won many prestigious awards, among them top honors in National and Region 1 recognition as Small Chapter of the Year in 1997 and again in 2001, was sited by Region 1 as Distinguished Chapter of the Year. They also achieved national recognition as Academic Excellence Chapter of the Year (1998), and one of their members was recognized as Academic Excellence Member of the Year in 2002. In Fall 2003 Vicki assumed the position as advisor to SPECTRUM, a student government-funded service organization that brings broad and unique programming to campus. Membership and programs are open to faculty, staff and students.
Vicki is a member of the Northeast Native American Consortium, Multicultural Alliance of Northern New York (MANNY), American Indian Science & Engineering Society, and National Society of Black Engineers.
