Giving to Clarkson - Share Clarkson
How it Works

"Our challenge is this," explains John Thompson '56. "Many prospective students face a gap between all their available financial resources (family contribution, government aid, Clarkson and other assistance) and the total tuition and fees that Clarkson must charge."

By providing a direct scholarship through the Share Clarkson program, you can help these students attend the school of their choice: Clarkson University.

Our competitors provide aid from large endowments. Clarkson, however, has a relatively small endowment. That's why your assistance through Share Clarkson has a big, immediate impact. By meeting the need of a promising student, you make a real difference. You make it possible for that individual to enroll here.

"Clarkson is building its endowment for the future. Meanwhile," says John, "a Share Clarkson scholarship enables a promising student to attend Clarkson today."

The Share Clarkson Direct Scholarship Program makes it possible for alumni and friends to sponsor individual students. Here's how it works:
  • An individual or group commits $2,500 annually for four years.
  • As a donor you may specify criteria, such as an academic discipline or geographic region, for choosing a recipient.
  • Clarkson's Scholarship Committee selects an appropriate applicant.
  • You choose how much personal contact, if any, you have with the recipient.
  • Your scholarship may carry your name or the name of someone you designate.
  • Your contribution to Share Clarkson counts as an annual gift to The Clarkson Fund and in The Campaign for Clarkson.
  • Your student recipient is able to enroll at his or her school of choice: Clarkson.
