Knightline
Key to the success of The Clarkson Fund is Knightline the
annual student phonathon. The phonathon center, located in
Woodstock Lodge, comes alive Sunday-Wednesday evenings in
the fall and spring with the energy and excitement of Clarkson
students.
Each student phoner actively seeks to maintain
ties with alumni, parents and friends who are notable to visit
campus, and to increase Clarkson's alumni participation in
The Clarkson Fund each year. The participation level of alumni
donors is vitally important to Clarkson, for a number of reasons:
- It will help elevate our alumni participation figures
to levels that will keep Clarkson competitive, and will
renew pride as we compare our giving to competitor universities.
Participation figures are significant because they’re
used in the methodology to determine annual rankings by
widely read guidebooks like Barrons and U.S.
News and World Report Best Colleges. To move
up in the rankings, and thus attract more students of promise,
we must increase our alumni participation rate.
- It will bring more support to our University, helping
finance “people and programs” through Clarkson’s
Strategic Investment Fund. Through this fund, your gift
will help bridge the gap between what tuition provides and
the total operating budget, since currently, tuition only
covers about 79% of the actual cost of educating a Clarkson
student.
- No matter the size of your gift, you will continue the
tradition of giving back to your university, following the
lead of generations of alumni before you who have helped
make Clarkson what it is today.
