Getting Into Clarkson

Parents of Prospective Students

Clarkson takes a strong interest in the success of your student. It starts with our academic program. We're ranked as a top national university (by U.S. News & World Report) and we're one of the smallest schools in that category (3,000 students). That means personal attention in our rigorous program — one more way to make your student successful. We also want all of our students to do what they want to do in life. That's why we emphasize spanning boundaries — students are not limited to one department or one field of study, which is why one out of every 12 Clarkson grads is a CEO or vice president, or owns a company.

You will want to visit our student life section to see all the ways your son or daughter can get involved on campus, plus our residence life area to find out about living facilities. You might be interested in our Career Center site, where we detail the co-op and internship opportunities, and where you can see the names of some of the more than 150 companies that visit campus each year. You may also want to get involved in our Parents Association, which promotes active parent involvement in the University.

But the first thing we encourage you to do is come to Potsdam and take a look at the University in person. We think you will like what you see.
