Early Admission Program - The Clarkson School
The Clarkson School offers a unique, individualized program for exceptionally talented high school students who are ready for college. Rigorous undergraduate courses, field trips, interesting speakers, access to all campus facilities and a supportive residential component are all part of this highly successful early decision program.
Our small student community provides a nurturing atmosphere, which allows students to pursue challenging programs of study that meet their own individual needs and interests. The program also offers time management and study skill seminars, as well as careful monitoring of each student's progress throughout the year. Personal development is an integral part of the school's mission.
Most students are accepted after their junior year of high school and are fully recognized as Clarkson University undergraduates. They earn approximately 30 college credit hours during the year. Majors can be chosen from the Schools of Business, Engineering, or Arts & Science, or in Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management, or University Studies.
The majority of Clarkson School students live together on campus, with specially trained house advisors. The program offers structured activities that foster a cooperative living and learning environment, as well as access to Clarkson's clubs, activities and sports teams.
Field trips are another integral part of the school's program. Plus, students have the opportunity to discuss campus and world events, as well as future educational and career options, with invited speakers.
Upon satisfactory completion of the year, students may automatically continue as sophomores at Clarkson University. The staff also provides guidance and help for those who wish to continue their education at other colleges and universities.
