The Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Science invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in biochemistry. Research expertise in all areas of the biochemical/biomolecular sciences will be considered. The search is aimed at entry level candidates, but exceptionally qualified applicants may be considered for more senior appointments. Clarkson offers a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative environment and opportunities for affiliations with our Center for Advanced Materials Processing or other Clarkson research centers are abundant. Successful candidates are expected to develop vigorous, creative, externally funded research programs. Teaching will be in support of the department's program in Biomolecular Science and could include undergraduate and graduate courses/labs in biochemistry, biotechnology, etc.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. with outstanding research potential and be capable of teaching courses at the Ph.D., M.S. and undergraduate levels. Visiting Assistant Professor
Chemistry and Biomolecular Science
The Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Science at Clarkson University anticipates hiring a visiting assistant professor beginning in January, 2008 and continuing for two years. Teaching responsibilities would most likely be in organic chemistry, but all areas will be considered. Research, particularly in the summer, in collaboration with current faculty would be strongly encouraged.
Qualifications include a Ph.D. in the chemical sciences, outstanding teaching potential and career aspirations in university education. University level teaching experience is desirable but not required.
