79th ACS Colloid and Surface Science Symposium

ROLE OF PHASE SCIENCE IN COLLOID AND SURFACE SCIENCE

This symposium will be focused on the importance of phase science in the research area of colloid and surface science. The Symposium is dedicated to Professor Stig E. Friberg, honoring him and highlighting his contribution to colloid science. Topics will include thermodynamic and kinetic nature of colloids, common colloidal systems, phase equilibrium, surface energy, amphiphilic association structures (esp. emulsion, microemulsions, lyotropic liquid crystals, vesicles), surfactants and hydrotropes, the application of phase diagrams in various industries, such as petroleum, food, personal care, ceramics, fragrance, detergents, etc.
