School of Business

Clarkson has left behind the traditional business majors like accounting, finance and marketing, which are the remains of a functional orientation introduced in the 1800s.

In today's global economy, companies are no longer oriented along these lines. Instead, industry has adopted a process orientation that spans the traditional boundaries of an organization.

Our new majors are designed to mirror this process-oriented, boundary-spanning orientation. This approach is a reflection of our commitment to prepare Clarkson graduates for the jobs of tomorrow — not the jobs of yesterday.

Our curriculum remains grounded in our well-established entrepreneurship and innovation, global supply chain management, and interdisciplinary programs. But it also takes into account new technologies, emerging fields, and expanding career opportunities.

You will learn skills that will help you succeed in today's complex global environment: creativity, problem solving, critical thinking and teamwork. And we stay in touch with industry leaders to ensure our programs are up-to-date and relevant.

One of the hallmarks of a Clarkson education is learning by doing. Our award-winning hands-on approach to learning ensures you will understand the relationship between innovation and application. Our students don’t just theorize about how to build a better mousetrap. They actually build one. Then they market it. That's why Clarkson's been named one of the top-40 entrepreneurial colleges in the country for four consecutive years (Entrepreneurship Magazine, 2005) and U.S. News & World Report has consistently ranked us as a top-20 program in Global Supply Chain Management.

That's also why Clarkson graduates are uniquely positioned to assume leadership roles and succeed in today's global economy.

And why one out of 12 Clarkson alumni is already a president, CEO, vice president or owner of a company. What is AACSB accreditation?

Accreditation is important!
AACSB International recognizes our world-class faculty, facilities, and curriculum as fully accredited.
