Three Clarkson University Army ROTC Cadets Commissioned |

Three students from Clarkson University's Army ROTC Golden Knight Battalion became U.S. Army Officers during a commissioning ceremony held in December. Gerrit F. Dykstra of Peekskill, N.Y., Tyrome Hairston of Black River, N.Y., and Andrew Dalton of West Point, N.Y., took their oath of office and had their gold bars pinned on by their parents, becoming second lieutenants during the ceremony. |

Golden Knight Ranger Challenge Team wins in Competition |

Clarkson University's Army ROTC Ranger Challenge Team finished first place out of twenty one teams in this years competition held at Ft. Devens, Massachusetts on the weekend of 13 and 14 October. The competition is a series of military events that include basic rifle marksmanship, an obstacle course, assembly/ disassembly of the M-16, day land navigation, night land navigation, a written land navigation test, a field leadership reaction course, a hand grenade assault course, and a physical fitness test. Coming off two 4th place finishes in the previous years, the Golden Knights trained harder than ever. The dedication and commitment of the team was shown by the dominating win. |

Golden Knight Team recieves first place at Army Ten Miler in Rotc category |

The Clarkson Army ROTC running club traveled to the nation's capital on October 7 to compete in the Army's 23rd annual 10-mile foot race, scoring first place in the Army ROTC team category. The Clarkson club consisted of two teams: Clarkson Golden Knight team and the Clarkson Golden Knight Mixed team. Each team was scored by the performance of their top four runners. Competing against 56 other ROTC teams, the Clarkson Golden Knight team came in first out of all ROTC teams, and 46th out of all 500 teams. |

Clarkson University Army ROTC Cadet Zachary Lewis of Williamson, N.Y., was selected by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) Educational Foundation to receive the AFCEA ROTC Scholarship in the amount of $2, 000. This is the second year that Lewis has received this scholarship award. |

10th Mountain Division 1st Brigade Combat Team Commander to Speak at Clarkson University ROTC Commissioning May 12 |

Col. David Paschal, commander of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) at Fort Drum, will address United States Army and Air Force ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) cadets when they are commissioned on Saturday, May 12, at 2 p.m. in Clarkson University's Cheel Arena. The 10th Mountain Division Band will provide music at the ceremony. The public is invited to attend. |

Clarkson University Army ROTC Cadet Earns Highest Award |

A Clarkson University Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) cadet was one of four nationally to be awarded the Legion of Valor Bronze Cross for Achievement, the highest award a cadet can receive. Cadet Battalion Commander Mickala S. Henson of Waverly, N.Y., a senior majoring in aeronautical engineering, was presented with the award in January by 1st. Lt. Justin Michel, A 1-71 CAV, 10th Mountain Division, a combat veteran who recently served in Iraq as a Platoon Leader. |

There is an issue with Mozilla Firefox that is preventing the event pictures from being displayed. Internet Explorer works fine
and the section is being be adjusted to allow Firefox to work. But for now Internet Explorer is recommended.
