Washington D.C. Outing To The Capitals Game
Washington D.C. area alumni gathered s together on Saturday, December 2 for dinner at Gordon Biersch. After dinner the group made their way to the Verizon Center to watch former Golden Knight, Chris Clark '98, and the rest of the Capitals battle the Buffalo Sabres. The Capitals defeated the Sabres 7 - 4.

The North Country Chapter Annual Holiday Dinner and Dance Party
The North Country Chapter gathered on Friday, December 1 for an evening of food, dancing and fun. The night also featured the presentation of the Stub Baker Chapter Service Citation Award. This year's recipient was Al Rothermel '48. The evening started at the President's House with a cocktail hour and award presentation. The group then headed over to Cheel to have dinner in the Barben Rooms. After dinner, guests put on their dancing shoes and danced the night away!

Clarkson Outing to Carolina Hurricanes Game
Nearly 80 alumni, family and friends made their way to the Carolina Hurricane's RBC Center on Saturday, November 18. President Tony Collins and his wife, Karen, hosted the gathering. A pre-game dinner was held in the Arena Club, inside the RBC Center. After watching Clarkson's own, Erik Cole '01, and the rest of the Carolina Hurricanes defeat the Dallas Stars 5 to 3, the group gathered again for a post-game meet and greet with Erik Cole.

California's 50 Years of Professor Egon Matijevic Celebration
For 50 years at Clarkson University, Dr. Egon Matijevic, Victor K. LaMer Professor of Colloid & Surface Science, has been pursuing excellence in the laboratory, the classroom and in life. As a world-renowned researcher with numerous patents and innovations to his name, he has defied convention among his higher education peers and inspired the Clarkson faculty to always place students first. To celebrate his 50th anniversary at Clarkson, Dr. Egon Matijevic is traveling across the nation. His first stop was in California. The first event was held held at the Garden Court Hotel in Palo Alto and the second reception was held in the home of Dianna Jones-Herrmann '85 in Burlingame.

The Los Angeles Chapter Kick-Off Event!
The Los Angeles Chapter held its first official
event on Saturday, November 11 at a Kings game. Nearly 30 alumni, family,
and friends gathered together at Engine Company 28 Restaurant for a pre-game dinner. After dinner, the Clarkson crew headed to the Staples Center to watch the King's Craig Conroy '95 battle Minnesota's Todd White '97. Former Clarkson Golden Knight, Todd White, scored the game winning goal for the Minnesota Wild.

Burlington and New Hampshire Chapters Join Together For The Clarkson / Dartmouth Pre-Game Event
On Saturday, November 4, Burlington and New Hampshire area alumni rallied together at Murphy's On The Green in Hanover, NH. Alumni, family and friends enjoyed drinks and dinner together before heading over to watch Clarkson take on Dartmouth. Fans who made the trip were pleased with the outcome of the game, Clarkson defeated Dartmouth 6 to 3.

Boston Chapter Gathers For Harvard / Clarkson Hockey Game
On Friday, November 3, Boston area alumni filled Harvard's Bright Hockey Center to watch the Golden Knights battle the Crimson. Clarkson fans were thrilled to see their beloved Knights defeat the Crimson 5 to 2. After the game, the group gathered at John Harvard's Brew House, where the coaches and team stopped by to celebrate.

NYC Chapter Tours Ellis Island with Sandy Ginsberg '54
Sandy Ginsberg '54 gave over 70 alumni, family and friends a personal tour of Ellis Island. In 1985, Sandy was a Vice President at Lehrer/McGovern, the firm responsible for the restoration of Ellis Island. The two year project included the restoration of the 250,000 square feet main building and proved to be one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences Sandy ever faced, particularly since there was a strong emotional connection to the project. In 1902, Ellis Island welcomed his grandparents and his then two-year old mother when they arrived in New York after a long trip from Poland. The group was able to enjoy a beautiful day and an incredible tour.

NYC's Welcome to the City Celebration
One year ago NYC area alumni gathered together to form an official Alumni Chapter. On Thursday, October 12, nearly forty alumni and friends attended the Chapter's 2nd Annual Welcome to the City Celebration. Newly graduated alumni as well as some familiar favorites met up at Stout to celebrate.

Convocation 2006 - 2007![]()
The Class of 2010 made their way to campus on Friday, August 25. Alumni were on hand to help welcome the incoming students and their families. Clarkson traditions, such as the signing of the green book and convocation speeches, were also conducted.

A Day at the Races in Del Mar, CA![]()
Nearly 50 alumni, family and friends from the Clarkson community gathered in Del Mar, CA for the 1st Annual Day at the Races on the West Coast. Guests were able to enjoy a fancy derby buffet lunch along with the beautiful view of the track from the exclusive Il Palio Restaurant.

Over 200 alumni, guests and friends gathered at the Saratoga Race Track on Friday, August 4 to enjoy a Day at the Races! Once again we were fortunate enough to secure the rail side pavilion directly next to the track! Alumni, family and friends were able to enjoy an incredible view. Send-Off Picnics 2006![]()
The end of July / beginning of August marks the start of send-off picnic season for the Clarkson community. Fourteen different regions across the Northeast organized their annual freshmen send-off picnics which brought alumni, current students and incoming freshmen together to celebrate the start of new school year.

DC Chapter Baseball Outing to Nationals / Yankees Game![]()
The Washington D.C. Chapter hosted a summer event at RFK Stadium on Saturday, June 17th. Over 40 alumni, family and friends gathered outside the stadium for a pre-game tailgate party. After the tailgate, everyone ventured inside the stadium where they met up with an additional 40 alumni, family and friends. The weather was beautiful and it was a great day for baseball. On Saturday, June 17th Boston area alumni met up at the Newton Commonwealth Golf Course for the Chapter's first annual golf outing. The great weather, nice company and good golf made for the perfect event.

Rochester Chapter Annual Summer Picnic ![]()
Rochester area alumni gathered together on Monday, June 12th for their annual summer picnic. This event honored Kathleen Hersam '78, as she received the Gordon C. Stub Baker Award for her outstanding commitment to the Chapter. It was also at this picnic that Kathleen passed the role of Chapter President over to Bill Jeffers '01.

NYC Chapter Baseball Outing at Yankee Stadium ![]()
Eighty alumni, family and friends gathered to watch the New York Yankees battle the Oakland A's on Saturday, May 13th. The group was fortunate enough to have great weather and the team made our New Yorkers proud as they beat the A's four to three.

The Alumni Association Welcomes the Class of 2006![]()
Over 700 undergraduates and graduates students were honored at the May 14th commencement ceremony in Cheel Arena. The Alumni Office had a busy weekend carrying out old traditions. The first task of the weekend was the signing of the Gold Book. (When freshmen first come to Clarkson they sign the Green Book and when they leave, they sign out in the Gold Book.) The Class of 2006 signed the registry and picked up their free travel clock, compliments of the Alumni Office. Saturday afternoon, a reception was held in Snell atrium for alumni legacies and their guests.

Clarkson Alumni Council Comes to Potsdam![]()
The Clarkson Alumni Council was on campus April 21st-22nd. Almost 40 members of the Council were able to make the trip back to Potsdam to participate in campus updates, committee meetings, and a student outreach project.....all of which included tons of fun! The photos below are from the student outreach project, which called for the alumni to dress in aprons that said "Clarkson Alumni Association: We're here to serve YOU!." Members of the Council invaded Ross-Brooks dining hall and Cheel Campus Center to educate current students about the Alumni Association and to serve them ice cream and candy.

Clarkson Visits California and Texas
President Tony Collins and his wife Karen, along with Steve Newkofsky and Peter Beekman, spent the last week in March traveling throughout California and Texas. The trip included stops in San Jose, San Diego, Burlingame, Dallas, and Houston.

The first week of March marked the beginning of President Tony Collins and his wife Karen's Florida tour. They visited with alumni from all over the state including Tampa, Orlando and Ocala.

Lambda Iota Reunion in Sarasota, Florida
Between February 27 and March 2, 2006, 14 Lambda Iota brothers reaffirmed their fraternal bonds and lifted their glasses high, celebrating their 1st reunion. Once more enjoying the traditions and camaraderie that had defined the brotherhood almost 50 years ago on 30 Elm Street at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York that today is known as Delta Upsilon.

Rochester Chapter Habitat For Humanity Event
Rochester area alumni rallied together on February 25th to participate in a build sponsored by Habitat for Humanity. This was an excellent opportunity for philanthropy within their local community. Nice work, Rochester area alumni!

Honorary Degree Ceremony in NYC
Thursday, February 9th, over 140 alumni, trustees, and friends gathered at NYC's Westin Hotel to watch the honorary degree ceremony for John Brooks Slaughter. Mr. Slaughter is the president and CEO of the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering Inc. (NACME) Tom Price, Senior VP of Operations for NACME, accepted the award on behalf of Mr. Slaughter. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and cocktails and then were escorted to Becco Restaurant, where they were treated to a relaxing evening of fine dining.

Winter Fest 2006 in Potsdam
Friday, January 27th, marked the beginning of Clarkson's annual Winter Fest. The campus was full of activity as over 100 prospective students were bused to Potsdam from all around NY state (with alumni serving as chaperones!) to attend the Clarkson / SLU hockey game in Cheel arena. We also had our annual Pep Band Mini-Reunion, which brought back nearly 40 alumni for the action. Our golden knights put on a quite a show, defeating St. Lawrence 3 to 2!

Men's Hockey Event in Canada
On Saturday, January 7th, Clarkson fans took a road trip up to the Corel Centre in Kanata, Ontario to watch the Knights battle the Saints. The Mayor of Ottawa and former hockey player, Bob Chiarelli '63, dropped the puck at the start of the game. Clarkson dominated for the majority of the game, defeating SLU 6 to 2. After the game, over 125 alumni and guests gathered for a post-game celebration with the team. See more photos from this event.
