NYC Chapter Tours Ellis Island

Sandy Ginsberg '54 gave over 70 alumni, family and friends a personal tour of Ellis Island. In 1985, Sandy was a Vice President at Lehrer/McGovern, the firm responsible for the restoration of Ellis Island. The two year project included the restoration of the 250,000 square feet main building and proved to be one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences Sandy ever faced, particularly since there was a strong emotional connection to the project.  In 1902, Ellis Island welcomed his grandparents and his then two-year old mother when they arrived in New York after a long trip from Poland. The group was able to enjoy a beautiful day and an incredible tour.
